In the commissioner's office for Suriname Affairs in The Hague dr. R.H. Pos, Minister plenipotentiary for Suriname in the Netherlands receives dr. Jules Sedney, Minister of Finance of Suriname, and ir. Frank Essed, Minister of Reconstruction of Suriname, a.o. because of the realization of the Brokopondo project. In Brokopondo the start of the realization of the Brokopondo project is worked on, a.o. with a model of the dam. Material for the work is supplied by train and Indians explore the building site with machetes. The bulldozers make a road from the railway to Brokopondo, which is used to transport the supplied heavy materials. Z.E. van Tilburg, governor of Suriname, and A.B. Speekenbrink, governor of the Netherlands Antilles, are present in Brokopondo when the transport arrives.
